Bavaria, Germany

The Free State of Bavaria in the south of Germany has only been a part of the country since 1871, and Bavarians have strong and unique traditions, including traditional clothes and folk music.

The Bavarian Alps are a big mountain range containing the Zugspitze, Germany's highest mountain. Bavaria's most famous annual event is the "Oktoberfest", a beer festival taking place in Munich every September.
